Use AdGlare as a Click Tracker

AdGlare comes with a versatile ad format called URL-Feeds, which can be used as a click tracker. AdGlare not only counts clicks. It also registers various metrics like the visitor's country, device type, browser, language and operating system. For that reason, the URL-Feed click tracker can be useful in situations where:
  • You want to get insights via which links on your website people click through.
  • You want to know how many times a PDF is downloaded.
  • You want to register when a user clicks on a link inside an email campaign.
In this article I will explain you how to set up such a campaign to track clicks on any of your content. Let's take the example where you'd like to know how many times a PDF file is downloaded from your website. Imagine your PDF can be found on


Log in to your AdGlare portal and click Zones => New Zone
Select the URL-Feed zone type, give it a name and add the zone.
Browse to the tab Invocation Code. On your website, replace the PDF file URL with this tracker URL.
Click Campaigns => New Campaign
Select the URL-Feed campaign type, give it a name and add the campaign.
Browse to the tab Creatives and click New Creative.
Give it a name. Use as a Target Resource the location where your PDF can be found.
Click the Display Network tab, and select the PDF Download Zone that you've created before.
Save the campaign and wait up to 1 minute.

Et voilà, you're done. Via the Reports page you can now track the number of times your visitors downloaded the PDF file. Note that the number of downloads is recorded as impressions.
